This qualification is designed to reflect the role of employees who perform duties such as:- Completing Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other office taxes
- Operational reporting
- Producing of basic management reports
- Producing basic job costing reports
- Preparing budgets
- Supervising the operation of computer based systems
- Classifying, recording and reporting of accounting information
- Maintaining inventory records
- Managing a small office
- Making decisions in a legal context

Achieve two (2) elective units selected from the list below or any other endorsed Training Package:
- Both elective units selected may be from the list of units suitable at Certificate IV or Diploma level
- Electives must be relevant to work outcome, local industry requirements and the qualification level

Selecting electives for different work outcomes
Achieve at least three (3) elective units. The three (3) elective units may be selected as follows:
- All three (3) elective units may be selected from the list of units suitable at Certificate IV level.
- Of the three (3) elective units, up to two (2) units may be selected from the list of units suitable at Certificate III level and up to 2 units may be selected from the list of units suitable at Diploma level
- Of the three (3) elective units, up to two (2) units may be selected from other endorsed packages in accordance with other packaging guidelines for this qualification
- The choice of electives should be appropriate to the level and integrity of the qualification and to the workplace outcomes it is designed to meet
